OUR HISTORY

The story of Fini was born in 1912 in a small workshop in the center of Modena. It’s a story that for years has told tradition, innovation and passion. A journey that has brought Fini to the tables all over the world.

1912

GOOD FOOD UNDER THE PORTICOES

Our story begins in 1912. Telesforo Fini, lover of good food and life’s everyday little pleasures, opens a smart shop in the historical centre of Modena. For his clients, only the best of Emilia’s fine fare will do!

1912

BEHIND A GREAT MAN, A GREAT WOMAN

The pursuit of gastronomic excellence is a family trait. In the back shop Telesforo’s wife, Giuditta, makes special tortellini for their most loyal customers: the taste is beyond compare. Those who try them can no longer do without. It is love at first bite.

1930

A PASSION TO BE SHARED

A passion shared is a passion better enjoyed. Thus in 1930 Mr Fini decides to open his very own restaurant where clients can enjoy the Fini family tortellini and relax in a homely atmosphere. This temple of Modenese fine dining instantly becomes a household name in all of Italy. Some of the most famous guests? Enzo Ferrari, Tazio Nuvolari, Rossellini and Anna Magnani.

1958

FINI TORTELLINI FOR FINE PALATES

In 1958 a large artisan workshop is set up inside the family villa. The aim? To see Fini’s delicious tortellini make it onto the dinner tables of Italians nationwide. The company takes over management of a number of motorway service station restaurants and opens a point of sale at Linate airport. The Fini taste spreads its wings.

1980

GROWTH DEMANDS COURAGE

In the Eighties, Fini’s delicious tortellini travel far, crossing national borders. Thanks to the first tortellini-making machinery, the family-run business is finally able to please palates the world over, becoming a fully-fledged international food manufacturer. In the Eighties, Fini’s delicious tortellini travel far, crossing national borders. Thanks to the first tortellini-making machinery, the family-run business is finally able to please palates the world over, becoming a fully-fledged international food manufacturer. To celebrate this radical change we ask graphic designer Pino Tovaglia to rework the coat of arms of the Fini family: he creates with the now celebrated lion rampant logo.

1984

GOOD THINGS ON TV

Fini products are now available in delicatessens nationwide. To celebrate this milestone with the nation, the company broadcasts its first TV advertisement. The tradition of good food from Modena expands to every region of Italy.

1994

A SUPERLATIVE TASTE THAT MAKES THE WORLD SMILE

When we taste something seriously good, it virtually tickles our taste buds and makes us smile. So mealtimes become joyful moments full of good cheer. That’s why we asked Italian comic duo Sandra and Raimondo to be testimonials for Fini. Their simple, wholesome humour is the kind that represents us best.

2010

A WINNING TASTE

Sporting passion and culinary tradition meet on the football field. The Italian Football Federation appoints Fini as official supplier to the national team, in recognition of the wholesomeness of its products. Fini’s Grandi Classici tortellini with bronze die extruded pasta thus become part of the training regime at meal times at the Coverciano camp. Their taste scores an instant win with Italians nationwide.

2012

100 YEARS OF TRADITION

The constant pursuit of gastronomic excellence has enabled Fini to reach a remarkable milestone, that of 100 years in business. A special occasion that we wanted to celebrate with our customers through the launch of two new product ranges. Our creative inspiration resulted in the gli Autentici range, products that are traditional at heart, proposing classic flavours of filled pasta, plus la Selezione, a range of enticing, original recipes. With Fini good traditions never grow old, but keep in step with the tastes of modern consumers.

2014

GOOD AND ECO-SUSTAINABLE

Fini is committed to the daily pursuit of quality, which is the driving force behind the creation of a new state-of-the-art plant in Ravarino producing fresh, premium quality pasta that is even more unique and recognisable: rugged, opaque and bronze die extruded. Pasta whose golden yellow colour confirms the perfect balance and freshness of the two key ingredients, eggs and flour. In addition, with the accent on eco-sustainability, the plant’s solar panels allow us to drastically reduce CO2 emissions and optimise production. It is our gift for the environment and for Emilia, a land that will always hold a special place in our heart.

2015

GOOD IS NO LONGER ENOUGH

The desire to constantly improve motivates us to embark on new adventures. We launch the project “Non solo buono”, created in conjunction with Conserve della Nonna to share our share our skills and tastes with others who, like us, believe that nowadays good is no longer enough. Let a new tradition begin. Che una nuova tradizione abbia inizio.

2017

A NEW BRAND, A CLEAR POSITIONING

Fini renews its brand identity, with the aim of treasuring the features that have made the brand memorable until today and evolve them to better communicate its current position: premium, but also close to people, proud of its history and its land of origin, but with a contemporary style. From here a new brand is born, which highlights the link of Fini with tradition and territory, giving more importance to the date of foundation and the coat of arms, and inserting for the first time the name of the city of Modena.

2017

"NOI DI MODENA" CAMPAIGN'

In the same year the Granripieni were born: a new line of fresh stuffed pasta where you can find the quality of the best Italian ingredients combined with a unique pasta, more rough and porous able to give a full taste, rich, great.

The campaign "Noi di Modena" is launched, a communication campaign that tells the story of Fini and Modena, through the stories of the people, leaving it to them to speak and demonstrating without artifice what is the character of this territory, where the brand has its roots and builds its future.

2019

GRANRIPIENI WIN THE "ELECTED PRODUCT OF THE YEAR" AWARD

Fini wins with the "Granripieni" line the "Elected Product of the Year" award for the fresh stuffed pasta category. A further recognition - based exclusively on the vote of consumers - to guarantee the highest quality of this range of tortellini, tortelloni and ravioli.

TODAY

NEW COLLABORATIONS

-"Ravioli Funghi e Provolone" enrich your stuffing thanks to the unmistakable spicy provolone Auricchio, a company that since 1877 produces the best provolone of the Italian tradition.
-For the "Ravioli ricotta erbette" a collaboration has been undertaken with the Granarolo Group, the most important and largest Italian dairy chain.
