OUR HISTORY

Le Conserve della Nonna was founded in 1973 in Ravarino, in the province of Modena, a land rich in Italian values and traditions, handed down on our tables generation after generation.

1973

WELL BEGUN

We set up our business in 1973 in the heart of Emilia: in Ravarino, in the province of Modena. People here have always been mindful of traditions and have always sown, harvested and transformed. In a place like this, our ideas were bound to thrive.

1973

NO SECRETS

We are the first company to produce jams in clear glass jars. For us it is the natural choice: just as we don’t want to alter flavours but preserve them, we don’t want to hide our products, but show them off immediately. We are proud to show off quality that is plain to see even before you taste it.

1980

THE PRODUCTION OF SAUCES

In 1980 we begin producing sauces in accordance with our philosophy, respecting Mother Nature’s seasons and carefully selecting all our ingredients. This is an era that sees people begin to ask more questions: where does their food come from, what is in it exactly and where is it produced. And with our good, wholesome produce, we have all the answers ready.

1995

THE FAMILY GROWS

In 1995 our philosophy gains ground in the market. We begin producing jams, marmalades, vegetables, pulses and many other specialties: our range grows to include over 100 different products. So many tastes but just one guiding principle: fresh, premium quality ingredients, prepared in a simple, wholesome way.

NATURALLY
GOOD

In 2006 the wholesome goodness of our products reaches TV screens with an advertising campaign designed to convey our personality: simple, transparent, close to nature. We flaunt our best features!

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We also set out to share our company philosophy, with an advertising campaign designed to highlight the flavour of good, simple food and the importance of traditional moments shared with family. From breakfast to dinner, we are always there to offer you moments to savour.

2009

THE PLEASURE OF SHARING

In 2009 we continue promoting our idea of quality, with the launch of our organic Bio range and the launch of our products on international markets.

2011

GOOD FOR US, GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

In 2011 we install a major solar panel system which provides nearly all of the energy the company requires: this allows us to avoid emitting 465,535 Kg of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere every year. Respect nature, and nature will thank you in return.

2012

THE NEW SHAPE OF TRADITION

In 2012 we introduce new shapes for classic flavours. We redesign the bottle of our celebrated Lampomodoro tomato passata, making it rounder and fuller, just like its flavour. We also expand our range of passatas, creating many sizes to suit all sorts of different occasions. This heralds the launch of products like Rusticoro, with its thick consistency and authentic flavour reminiscent of genuine home-made passata, made with only fresh Italian tomatoes.

TRASPARENCY IS ESSENTIAL, NOT JUST IN PACKAGING

For a wholesome taste, simplicity is key. Our recipes have always been simple and wholesome, and since 2013 we have drawn consumers’ attention precisely to this virtue, redesigning our labels with a view to greater transparency: hence, they now indicate the Italian provenance of ingredients, how preparations use fresh produce harvested when perfectly ripe, the use of ingredients of certified quality…

KITCHEN LIFE-SAVERS

In 2013 we launch our range of spreads, chopped vegetables and patés to cater to those who, between work, family commitments and the hectic pace of modern life, have little time left to devote to healthy eating. We launch products which save time in the kitchen, which are ambassadors of quality and taste, to be enjoyed any time of day. The range is also designed to cater to the different needs of consumers for all sorts of different occasions, with modern consumer habits in mind. We remain loyal to tradition and to our local area while embracing the need to evolve, keeping in step with the times and listening to our customers and their needs.

2014

HEALTHY AND GENUINE FOOD

We believe that eating well is the first step towards a healthy lifestyle, and day after day we endeavour to bring you healthy, wholesome products. In 2014 we are the first manufacturer to obtain Quality Control certification for our tomato passata and fresh sauces, thanks to environmentally-friendly integrated production, which uses only locally grown tomatoes with no GMOs and no pesticides. In the same year we introduce our range of jams with cane sugar, ideal for all the family’s breakfast, for a tasty, balanced start to the day.

2014

“NON SOLO BUONO” IS LAUNCHED

Right from day one, when making our preserves, we always use carefully selected ingredients, choosing seasonal produce and using the most natural preserving method which respects the environment. It is this passion that has brought us here: to the world of “Non solo buono”, which in Italian means “Not only good”.

A project we have embarked upon in tandem with Fini and Greci in order to share our skills and tastes with others who, like us, believe that nowadays good is no longer enough. It is a project that welcomes you to explore to your heart’s content and discover all sorts of things.

TODAY

QUALITY AWARD

Respect for tradition and the constant pursuit of quality continue to reward Le Conserve della Nonna and to confirm the authenticity of a brand increasingly loved by the general public. It is for this reason that our Tomato Pastes and Jams have managed to win for three consecutive years from 2019 the prestigious Quality Award, the only recognition directly attributed by Italian consumers to products judged to be of high quality.

Work also continues at the production plant to contribute to a more sustainable future with the installation of a cogenerator, that is, a system of electricity and thermal energy production that allows to contain CO2 emissions in the environment.
